Hello !

Good and bad things happened to me this week, so I kinda felt like being in a roller coaster.
The good thing is that I finally got a contract with this newspaper I've joined in the last months, I was in a trial period. I translated 2 books and this wonderful writer, who is working for this newspaper, recommended me and put me in touch with the editorial staff. In the first place, I was looking for some article to translate, but they asked me to write articles. I did a small report, with pictures and all that stuff, you know...and they said yes. They loved my writing and that's the biggest compliment I've ever received. They want me also in another newspaper, a new one which is in production and where I will talk about important news in the country, especially events from Transylvania. I think I'll have to go there occasionally even if live in the south of my country. Anyway, this 2 newspapers are dedicated to the romanian people who lives in Italy. They must be aware of what is happening in the country. The cool thing is that I work at home, like the others members of the staff (we all are from different region and we need to collect information and send them to the press in Italy).
So, now I do translations and I write articles...isn't it cool?
I also had fun, I've been to the theater with some friends. It's the "Shakespeare Festival" and we chose 4 plays and they are played in different languages: Romeo and Juliet (in lituanian), A Midsummer Night's Dream (in korean), King Lear (in french) and Macbeth (in italian). We had "supratitles"(not subtitles, like on tv) on a panel, at the top of the scene. It was really interesting!
Another cool think it's that my aunt is in visit, finally. A year and a half has passed since I last saw her. She's awesome! She leaves in Arenzano, a cool place in Italy. She also was very surprised that I work for a romanian newspaper from Italy. She will be able to read my articles, lol.
The bad things...well, I freaked out because of my mother. She had some problems with her heart Thursday. She got a very very bad pain in the chest and we went to the hospital the next morning. They found out she has her left ventricle enlarged...because she smokes too much! Now she's fine, but she really needs to quit smoking! The doctors put her under treatment. Before going to the hospital, I cried all day and night, believe me. I wasn't able to sleep. When at last she felt asleep, I went to her room to check her during the night many times. Imagine that!
Another bad or good thing (I don't know yet because I must wait to see the final result) is that I took an aptitude test for this full time job for a company. I don't like the job (equipment assembly and quality checking), but I need it. The cool thing is that it doesn't matter if I have or not experience, they train you. I don't like it because it doesn't suit me...but the salary will be good, I hope. We need money and I need a real job. My family things translating, drawing and writing articles aren't real jobs...that's sad to hear. At least my husband and my friends support me in everything I do, especially if it defines me. Anyway, I need to wait to see the result of the test, if I passed or not.
..and I think that's all...
I'm working also on commissions, no worries!
